Pre-K Enrollment Information

Norman Public Schools will be offering the Pre-Kindergarten (4-year-old) Program for the 2024-2025 school year at all elementary schools and four Bright Beginning Schools.

Each Pre-K classroom has an educator certified in Early Childhood Education with a maximum class size of 10 students per teacher. Class numbers will be increased only if 15 or more students request enrollment. At 15 students, an aide would be added, and the total class size could range from 15 to 20. No class will have more than 20 students.

Since Pre-K is a voluntary program, TRANSPORTATION IS NOT BE PROVIDED.

STUDENTS MUST BE FOUR (4) ON OR BEFORE SEPTEMBER 1.

***PRE-K PLACEMENT IS CLOSED FOR THE 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR. INFORMATION FOR THE FOLLOWING YEAR WILL BE UPDATED IN JANUARY 2025.***

  1. Beginning February 17, 2025, parents who are interested in enrolling their child in a Pre-K class should go to the district website to complete a Pre-K placement form. The form should be completed online, and the enrollment materials are to be held until after the placement process. (The following materials will be needed to complete the enrollment process: birth certificate, immunization records, and proof of residency.) The placement request form will close at 4:00 PM on Friday, March 7, 2025. After this date, please call the Early Childhood Office at 405-366-0531 for more information about requesting a Pre-K placement for the 2025-2026 school year.

  2. Parents will complete the form, indicating their preference for enrollment placement. Forms may be completed immediately or will be accepted until 4:00 pm on Friday, March 7, 2025.

  3. Class lists will be available on the NPS website by 4:00 pm on March 28, 2025. A list of students' names (first name, last initial only) will be posted by school site. Parents will also be notified by the provided email address regarding their child's enrollment.

  4. After notification, families will confirm their enrollment online. Enrollment materials will consist of an enrollment form, birth certificate, immunization record, and two proofs of residency. All enrollment materials must be completed online by April 25, 2025, or the student's place will be forfeited.

  5. If the number of students exceeds the number of places available for enrollment at a school, a drawing will take place. Norman Public Schools reserves the right to close enrollment and place the remaining applicants on a waiting list.

  6. If you have completed the Pre-K Placement Form and your child is not selected for your site preference, you have the opportunity to enroll at another site with availability.

  7. All state-required immunizations must be in process by the first day of school.

  8. All applicants' names will be maintained on class lists at the Administrative Services Center.

  9. Confirmation of enrollment is required for all Pre-K students.

Enrollment will not be accepted unless all enrollment requirements for Norman Public Schools are met.
